Kerry should be president now if Bushies hadn't cheated and ran disgusting smear campaigns, if they'd even halfway ran an honest campaign in 2004. Unfortuinately, many SDems blame Kerry for being cheated and lied about, and he is taking the heat for that. But the fact remains that Kerry was 100% right about Iraq and a lot of other things.

Kerry also has two huge things going for him, 14 million in the bank and the fact that if you put seven Dem candidates on a stage in a debate, Kerry is probably still going to stand out as the most credible and presidential.

This Dem campaign is wide open. And Hillary may not even run. In fact I would say it's likely neither Hillary, Obama or Gore will run. If that happens, then Kerry suddenly towers over the field. Because Edwards remains rather lightweight and all the others are newbies as national candidates. However, if Gore runs I think he'd beat Kerry.
