That is a helluva package for a high school grad.

Good! After listening to what the "piece of s**t" Rangel had to say last week, it's nice to know it's a good deal for the EM.

I have a dance partner, age 52, who has done one tour of Iraq as an National Guardmans and is going back for a second this year. She enjoys it, and is doing it for the retirement.

No doubt we might get a better feeling if enlistment and retention rates were high because of patriotism.

The obligations of those in risky positions in Iraq are quite high so the compensation should be as well. I dont care if the compensation had to double from here before considering the draft. The market places much higher compensation levels on many positions that are much less important.

Think of the entertainment industry, sports, politicians, etc

With the Democrats likely to exacerbate the economic cycle down over the next few years there will likely be more people considering the rewards of serving.
