Nothing is "over" for Kerry, and no one knows who's going to get nominated, including you, him or me. A botched joke is nothing. Compare that to McCain wanting to double the amount of troops in Iraq. Or Guiliani saying Bush was right in his Iraq strategy. Kerry meanwhile has been warning Bush about what he did in Iraq since 2002 before we even went in there.

The issue was the White House using two days of news cycle to demand Kerry "apologize" for a blown joke. I daresay that hurt the GOP in the last election because they were obviously being dishonest at the highest level. And remember, most of the pundits who say "Kerry is through" are working with his competition.

It's true Dems are now window shopping for the New Face for the new season, fair enough and let's hope we find a miracle man, but frankly, that New Face might not exist. At least not since Warner dropped out. Edwards, Hillary, Gore, these are not new faces. Obama, IMHO too early for him to run. Wait 8 years. Biden is Kerry without the money, combat record or good hair. Bayh seems fine but maybe vanilla. Wes Clark would make a great Defence Secretary. Richardson is Hispanic and overweight. Vilsack has a terrible last name. Then again so does Obama (Obama Osama Hussein will be what the GOP will call him). So when you're finished exhausting the list, you might come back to the realisation that there was a reason the White House spent so much time trying to smear Kerry. Because they fear him more than any of the others. Maybe. We'll see.

The good news is, I wouldn't want to be a GOP candidate in 2008 and have to run on Bush's record.

I admire John. I think he's over now. Life is not always fair, but he goofs up, and maybe with bad management not handling his P.R. well his opponents take advantage of him.
It is over now for John. He should be President.
That will not happen now. All the kings horses

Well said. Kerry is a good man. I too don't think its in the cards for him to be president.
