I've already expounded on other threads() my opinion that the Israeli-Arab conflict is but a repeat of the French-Algerian one, that is, it's a COLONIAL struggle. Stripped from its kibbutz romanticism, religious/biblical fantasies and Holocaust guilt-tripping, Israel, indeed, turns out to be the last, brutal, western experiment in colonialism.... Now, as I noted before, not all western colonies are doomed to end like French Algeria: Israelis have a choice between French Algeria and South Africa. But even if Israel were to meet the same fate as French Algeria --the coffin or the suitcase-- it wouldn't spell a genocide of its Jewish settlers. French Algeria's one million Pieds Noirs* were not exterminated by FLN freedom fighters! They were allowed to pack up and resettle in metropolitan France.
