I discover MQ secret! MQ is a person who wanted to immigrate to the US. Could not, by some reason only he can explain. He lived in Canada, Belgium and the UK.

I have seen people like him, his name was Uwe, a German, who think the US is a Nirvana. (I am not trying to denigrate the US with that assertion only using it to explain MQ's behaviour).

Uwe met US soldiers in Germany during the time Germany was poor just after the war. He used to polish the boots of the soldiers to make some money when he was a kid and the soldiers were very kind to him. He grew as an adult with the ideas shaped when he was a boy.

He wanted his son to study there and he longed to go work there too. But he was stuck since he was a high school teacher and could not leave Germany. He did a stint in Nigeria once as a development aid teacher for some three years, and I met him there.

Eventually he succeeded to have his daughter married to an American and is now living in Colorado. (Both parents controlled the life and destiny of his son and his dauighter) Today he saves the whole year on his penson to go visit her once a year.

I can recall when he was on his stint in Nigeria. How happy he was when I used to bring a bottle of Jack Daniels to him. It gave him a taste of the US. His wife used to make cakes and always asked me to come for coffee in the afternoon. (I when coming form holiday abroad would bring the JD for him)

That's MQ, he grew up with some found ideas about the US and have never moved there and he keeps to this day the American Dream inside his head.

Elmat grew up reading the Readers Digest but he grew up with his own ideas.

Back to MQ: See how angry he gets when Elmat defend mass migration? This is his reacton to the fact that there was no mass migration for him to migrate to the US.

See how angry he is with the newcomers to NZ? Is his reaction to the fact that he was not a newcomer into the US.

MQ is a frustrated immigrant to the US.

I enjoy reading Maurice's posts. And he has a unique style of juxtaposing reality with caricature that jolts traditional viewpoints. He has wrongly been accused of racism on occasions. Although I dislike labeling people, his attitude in the recent posts about Iraq can best be described as imperialist.

en.wikipedia.org

>Insofar as 'imperialism' in the non-Marxist sense might be used to refer to an intellectual position, it would imply the belief that the acquisition and maintenance of empires is a positive good, probably combined with an assumption of cultural or other such superiority inherent to imperial power (see The White Man's Burden).>
