New Zealanders are foolish. They think they are getting cheap workers, when there are hundreds of thousands here bludging on the taxpayers. Fortunately, the numbers from Tuvalu and other Pacific Island moaning about sea level rise are few.

What they really want is to join the free ride they can get here. There hasn't been any sea level rise to worry about and won't be for decades [due to global warming]. What they should worry about is tsunami from Tunguska-type bolide arrivals over the Pacific.

Here's what they really want: <On Wednesday, New Zealand, which already has a large population of Pacific Islanders, announced a plan to accept up to 5,000 seasonal workers from island states to work in agriculture.
"It's a foot in the door," Laupepa said. "We are very grateful. Labor mobility is an opportunity to gain something useful in life."

They want money, not dry land. They've got dry land. NZ should only agree to help if we get their countries annexed as holiday resorts and part of NZ. If they agree to hand over title, I'd be okay with letting them become citizens. We'd soon see how serious they are about whining about sea level rise. I don't think you'll see them making that offer. They want free taxpayer money, not having to give something away, such as their country.

A NZ citizenship is worth a LOT more than a Tuvalu citizenship, so they would be by far the winners on the deal. I'd only give them half a citizenship. Maybe residential rights with citizenship after 20 years of no bludging.
