If that would happen often two weeks. Then permanent.> And Message 23065767 Hang in there. Know that even if you don't care somebody does. You're being tested here and doing pretty well. But I think you're working too hard at it. One of the problems you're facing is petty BS filling the thread, IMO, to see what can be got away with. I'm not interested in a "love-in" there, (the main thread) and I don't particularly care if folks bash AMD, or me personally, at least sort of legitimately. A day or two off at discretion of moderator for almost anything would be fine with me -- but not to count to the three and you're out. One warning to cut the thread to the off topic thread ignored and you're on vacation. Persistent flogging of nonsense like, but not limited to, "I was suspended for 2 weeks for that." good for a day or two off. Actually, it seems to me that any public disagreement of vacation time by offender should be grounds for immediate two day suspension. (Or more, at moderators discretion, but not counting to three and you're out.) *ONLY PUBLIC VOTES SHOULD COUNT TO THAT, IMO*. While I'm at it I think Three and you're Out deserves some modification also. Re: Message 23065267 16 out of the last 20 posts just total garbage. There..... I have indisputable proof. Now I can insult. Get rid of this ridiculous degree of moderation. Rink is running amuk. If the result of his "moderation" continues to produce this seemingly endless series of rationalizations of why this is an insult or this is not, I vote get rid of Rink. He claims one of his "moderation" goals is to produce a higher percentage of on topic posts. It doesn't. BS, TWY. Go back and look at the flame wars of pre-moderation and early moderation. This is not so bad as some of that. I appreciate that you're one of the most knowledgeable around here but disagree with that particular statement. ========= I, personally, think that several of the common posters on the moderated thread are there mostly to disrupt things. But who knows, except each individual poster. I get overly aggressive at times. C'est la vie. ======= Re: Separately there's a long standing discussion here about speed limits, and even though I openly oppose them I said recently we might still need to implement it if it can get very high level of support (e.g. 80% of votes). 80%? LOL! I want a posting limit per person per day. 24 hour immediate suspension except on EA or other important news day. Re: Also I've been accused of making wrong decisions. Every single time in fact but I usually can and should laugh about it. You got that right! Re: and believe me nobody here knows more about reiterative statements and crying fouls than me LOL. You make the decisions. Somebody wants to publicly criticize, on the main thread, they're on vacation. Or put them to a vote. They post privately to you, I'd cut them off, put it to a vote. You don't need BS from anybody here. You do what you can the way you see best. ======= Doug, I disagree with your tactics. Why not start your own thread? I doubt I'd post but I'd lurk. When you get off on interpretations I frequently disagree but you could easily hold a "center stage" running either an INTC or AMD thread. You don't need multiple monikers. You've enough on the ball to do it legitimately. -tgp
