Those youth using the word, "Nicca" probably do not have the resources or awareness to propel gold very far.

I think you miss my point TH. The more that do not understand GOLD, the less that will wish to trade you thier blood, sweat, and tears for your hoard. Indians used to trade land for beads, because they were taught BEADS had VALUE and did not really understand certain things. When they would not VACATE the land the europeans had BOUGHT with BEADS - guns and rifles and swords had to come out and enforce property rights eh? Ultimately the way I see it, the allocation of scarce resources will be settled in violent terms.

If you lose the memeshare of the masses for your shiny metal, you are sunk. It is very important for people like you and Jay Chen to teach the youth that they should hoard gold because it has always been done that way - so that you can get some young slave to mow your yard or cook your meals or catch your fish so they can have gold - if you lose that - you will have to do it yourself. Shudder the thought of having to rely on your own back - oh the humanity! hehe

I think the Chinese and Indian youth do, as they understand that gold has value by way of their parents and history.

Perhaps, I knew a few chinese and indian youth from college. Their parents had very strict rules and customs that I didn't see their children adopting. I used to play table tennis with one of these indians - he was very good - but not as good as the phillipino guys we played with, he went on to his arranged marriage and working for a big accounting firm back home in India. He will probably follow in his father's footsteps and follow most of the rules and customs. He had 2 brothers that I knew as well, one spit on his arranged marriage, stayed in the USA illegally, works odd jobs, does crystal meth, and chases women like there is no tomorrow - he took jesus's words literally - live for today. He will not follow in fathers footsteps and does not hoard gold and never will and has took a big dump on most of the old "traditions" and "values." THe other brother went for his arranged marriage, got cold feet, came back to the USA legally and is a big Tupac and Snoop Doggy Dogg fan like his meth head brother - at least he has not been totally cut from the family like that brother - he does wear a gold chain on his neck - but not because of his fathers and grandfathers tradition - but because he likes that big chain like snopp dogg. He tells me things are changing back home - he talks of bollywood - and how cell phones and 250 dollar designer jeans and such are changing the cultural landscape back home in india and how their youth are breaking mommy and daddys heart not following "tradition" The women do not want to be wives and mothers, they want to work and have cars and go on vacations and have someone else cook the food - hehe.

I can't waste time learning every word the youth conjure, and I would wager that most of these new words are created by people who may not really have mastered the more common words.

You are probably correct. THe children are our future, Whitney Houston said so. She teaches them by example.

Your fourth paragraph is back to Madonna with the whip. I don't think this is the first trigger to alert you to the fact that our culture has cancer.

Yet you think chinese or indian culture is immune to this cancer too - it is not - cancer is infecting everywhere. With technology and interents and cellphones the cancer can spread all over the globe faster than ever before.

You will have to ask Russ why he sold his gold.

I think I can infer he felt the price he got was good enough for him, but Chen is still in the backyard digging holes. You come to my grandpas farm to buy some Moonshine, all he wants is some pigs or chickens, that is about ALL he will trade it for - what do you do?
