My grandfather bought a fig ranch in Oregon in the 40's so he could charge off his fishing trips to the West Coast. Could have bought the mountain behind it for $1,000 but you can't grow figs on a mountain. That mountain was full of uranium worth $100s of millions that was found in the 50's.
