THAT brings us to Sam Brownback....

It looks like Sam is going to be the ONLY true inheritor of Bush's Christian base.

Will Sam be able to parlay that base into a winning strategy against Romney, McCain and Guiliani who will be splitting the more moderate wing of the Party?

I don't know what kind of "orator" Sam is, but if he's halfway decent he could be tough to beat as long as all three of the others stick around.

In fact, every single candidate has some electability issue, either in the primaries or general election. You're right, the GOP base is so rightwing that many of them can't stand McCain, Guiliani or Romney. All three of them are going to have to pretend they're intolerant on social issues, so all three are going to have to BS quite a bit. Which makes them all flipfloppers and panderers.
