It is the GOP which is in trouble for 2008. For one thing, the GOP is discredited in Ohio and other crucial states. Part of the cost for their gross corruption and election fraud in 2004, as well as their support of sending good US jobs overseas. All of which Kerry warned Ohioans about.

Kerry is just one of a half dozen superb Democratic candidates, any one of which who would be embraced by most of the country and be far better than Bush, not even any comparison. There is no credible reason why Kerry or any of the top dems can't make it to the White House, if nominated. And if Gore, Obama and Hillary don't run, Kerry suddenly becomes the frontrunner again. Lo and behold. But it won't be that easy.

The GOP problem is that their rightwing base is totally discredited with 70% of the country. Those rightwing ideas have been proven just plain wrong. And the religious right has been disgraced, exposed and humiliated with people like Ralph Reed and Rev. Haggard showing their true stripes as corrupt criminals. So they have lost their loyal foot soldiers.

McCain and Guiliani are the frontrunners, but both are distrusted by the base. Both also kowtowed far too much to Bush and that's all on the record. So neither is a straight shooter and neither can be called honest or dependable anymore. Both have to talk tightropes between truth and fiction.

Mitt Romney might have the best shot but he's a hypocrite and Mormon. And Brownback is with ther religious right, so same problem. That's all they have. Four very questionable candidates. The best one, McCain, made a huge mistake backing Bush so much. Now he's alienated most of the country.
