I do not suppose you can command enough Portuguese to order food or find the toilet? No, of course not.

Maybe not Portugese, but I just spent a week in Mexico and made a point of always speaking in Spanish with the locals to the greatest extent possible, even if they spoke english.

Actually had a dream in Spanish after about 4 days there..
