Yes, I had a buddy once who claimed a great intellect, but he could never beat me in chess, and refused to play me, since it threatened his frail ego. Certainly chess is a game that can be predicted, but by computers, only imperfectly by human brains.

Chess is a very elegant and beautiful game. It's all right in front of both players all the time, no dice, no chance - and no excuses.
