Well, the thread is in danger of dying anyway. After the stock is in decline for a year or so, most people will give up the hollow cheerleading. At that point what will most peple do, keep printing links to The Inquirer ?

You notice the Torrenza fans have quit posting. Because there is nothing happening there. The GPGPUxCPU folks will stop after a while, too. That one is two or three years away. Pete will stop pointing out the demerits of FSB, since they don't appear to make any difference. And DRBES will quit posting his daily cross-over forecasts. Even niceguy seems to have calmed down. Plantlife is gone. Jspeed is absent. BUGGI is out of the stock. And so is nearly everyone else.

So, what's the point of insulting skeptics anymore ? The cheering audience has left the premises.

Doug,

Did I miss something??? I've been posting as though the stated rules have always been there... I think that the real problem is that many posters behave as though they haven't...

It's illegal to drive over 65MPH on the highway in my state. Sometimes (OK, almost all the time...), I choose to drive 80MPH. I haven't received a speeding fine in over 5 years. Does that mean that they changed the speed limit??? NO!!! I'm responsible for driving within the speed limit and, if I get pulled over, I don't use the "I was only following the car in front of me"/"I bet if I had big boobs"/"Oops, I didn't realize how fast I was going" excuse to try to avoid the fine...

The only problem that I see with Rink's moderation is that he makes the mistake of trying to explain himself too often to a bunch of whiny, unappreciative posters who could really give a shit that he's spending inordinate amounts of time trying to provide a decent board for people who want to discuss investment possibilities revolving around AMD/Intel. Anybody who truly has an appreciation for what he does doesn't post in a manner which makes his job more difficult, and hence, doesn't really need to worry about the rules, or changes to the rules...
