"Such as stock selection??"

It happens every day. There are programs you can purchase, and web sites where you can subscribe. Google away. all the big brokerages do "program trading". It caused some problems in the Clinton era, when they all "decided" to sell at once and the market dropped 500 points in a day.

I subscribed one for a while that claimed to have models of different investing styles modeled in software, Warren Buffet, the Motely Fool, etc. It did ok, but it didn't seem to do any better than I was doing as a human, so I dropped it.

I've often thought that automated currency trading over the internet could be implemented fairly easily. I'd love to have an automated program that I could fund, turn loose, and just have it make me money! Maybe someday..
