Poor because on a wide range of skills we are falling short. Much is made of "cheap Chinese labor" as an issue -- but when you are buying stuff if you can't find skilled people you will go where there are skilled people -- and if the skilled people are in China you will not be going there merely because labor is cheaper - you will be going there because the Chinese have become more skilled.
