I don't believe religious folk have the monopoly on ethics, in fact I think belief in the supernatural can be a convenient excuse for unethical behaviour (although fear of the consequences in the life-after-death is reputed to keep some in line). Also the science of biology has shown how interrelated is all life on earth. So I'm with you, koan.
