Post #of 517

Talked with Rich yesterday after playing phone tag for a few days. He was very positive.

1. Financials for 2005 were promised to him this week. We still need 2006 updated but 2005 is the key stumbling block now. Frustrated by the delays, especially since Tara isn't operating any mines or building anything. Financials should be pretty simple.

2. Asked about near term producers. Says two of the projects are proceeding as planned. Lateegra is behind due to interest in their project near Aurelian. He thinks they will catch up and move Picacho forward. Does expect gold production in Q1.

3. I asked about what Tara would do once the jt ventures started producing gold and put Tara in a much better cashflow position. I asked if Tara might do some projects on their own or would they stay with the current formula. Rich said he is very excited about the base metal project and would like to see Tara work that one by itself because the ore grades look so good. Expect to hear more about the base metal project in Q1.

4. Listing. Rich desperately wants the financials done so he can start the application process. Needs the financials first. He knows everything is coming together and wants the improved listing so that Tara can take full advantage of the improved cashflow. He would like to skip otc and go straight to AMEX but first we need the financials and then see how far the share price has gone up.

5. Competition on business model.
I asked why more companies didn't use Tara's business model. Rich said it wasn't that easy to duplicate. Finding the right projects AND joint venture partners that are willing to fund 100% of the exploration for less than 100% of the deal is hard. It has to be presented in a way that's beneficial for both parties. The current mining boom coincided perfectly with Tara's switch from energy to mining.

I asked him why he switched. He said his background was more towards mining. The energy business was paying for itself but he couldn't see it becoming a big company. They were drilling shallow, low risk wells that were doing ok but it was a struggle. He ended up selling all the wells for a small profit but is glad he made the bold move to mining. Obviously he was right. The size of the jt ventures he has assembled is impressive in terms of potential economic return and the related market cap that should result.

5. Near term catalysts. I asked what was coming up in the next few months that would help the stock. He mentioned Paramount's drilling reports on San Miguel. He feels this could be a big project and that results will surprise to the upside. There has been a lot of drilling so the results should trickle in from Paramount and they are likely to start the process of preparing a NI 43-101 report soon. That would better define what kind of project Paramount has and Tara's share. He said to watch for the next PR from Paramount and that should detail their near term plans.

Overall I felt better than ever about my Trgd.pk investment after the call. Bobwins

And then there were two.

Sometimes you have to move backward in order to move forward.
