..at times to respond to American Sister, by far and away the biggest blowhard nitwit that I've ever encountered on SI..

The issue here is not individuals who post but instead the topic of the thread.

I think stereotyping anything including politicians does not serve any purpose. In a democracy such as ours if we have a dysfunctional Congress or a Congress where corruption is rampant, or a President who is out of touch with the people, then the people are to blame, not those folks who have been voted in.

I would hope that in 2008, the American people would go to the voting booth similar to what they had in mind in Nov. 2006. Opponents accused the Dems of having no plan. Yes indeed, the Dems did not have much of a plan. But the American voters preferred a party with no specific plan to one which had a plan for head butting, calling political opposition names, labelling then as scoundrels and out to destroy the US etc. etc. And the people simply outright got fed up with the message of hatred and ridicule of even patriots like John Kerry and others. Nov. 2006 proved that the American people shun the Rovian style.

The Obama appeal seems to be catching on with the American people. This nation is surely looking for something different in 2008.

If telling the truth is a crime to you, then you have a great deal to learn. You are the one who has been putting down our best most honest leaders and promoting our worst and most dishonest.

You should be ashamed of yourself. You should apologize. You and all the other Bush-Cheney loving appeasers who let our country get taken over by a bunch of crooks, incompetents and radical ideologues.
