I do not understand why party members feel the need to protect poor decisions. They complain about bad government. yet they are the one's that enable it by their decisions.

Liar. Clinton never had the chance to take Osama into custody. That's a totally discredited rightwing myth and myth made up to try and cover up the fact that it was Bush who let Osama go at Toira Bora and ignored major pre 9-11 warnings.

The lie about Clinton being "offered Osama" came from a single line of dialogue taken out of context by the rightwing. I heard Sean Hannity trying to make the connection. It was quite a leap of logic. Clinton's people have all denied such an "offer" ever happened, or at least they never heard about it.

The matter was also debated on Fox news by an expert panel including Sandy Berger. It was concluded by all that it was either a myth or just a low-level claim made in Yemen which never reached Washington DC.
