I broke an appointment with a dealer clear across town to make one with a backwoods mechanic who had been referred by a knowledgeable neighbor and got my truck fixed and serviced yesterday. Saved a lot of money and a lot of time.

I know he was good because he spotted an aftermarket stabilizer my son had installed on the RAM and said he had put on several and that they really helped. They do. He agreed with me that Dodge should never have designed such an unstable front end. I think they've fixed it now.

The only trouble is, this fellow's pulling up stakes and moving to Missouri when he can sell his place.

"you need to take almost everything back to the dealer"

For some reason every time I take a car to a dealership they recommend $500 worth of work. It seems to be universal across all dealerships of all brands.
