I sold plenty of stocks today. Did not like the action at all. It was a really slippery kind of day, and it all started, as far as I'm concerned, yesterday.

Yesterday sold: 1/4 position of DPTR, all of BTJ, a sh*t load of pink stocks (10) due to Iso's or someone's post about not trusting any of them, all of WHT and NBG. I made a key punch error and bought a stock that I never heard of and sold it a minute later and lost $70 (CPHI).

I bought XTO yesterday.

Today I had buyer's remorse and rebought one of the pinks, Nuinsco (NUIRF). I bought MMG, UEXCF, URZ, MNG, PDRT, a little SSPI (a dog's paw in the toilet), sold CNQ and when Iso raised his hand, sold 2/3 position of DPTR. After that I sold CHK, GRS, PLM.

Tomorrow, well, as the title of a Beatle's song states, "Tomorrow never knows." After tallying the results, I made a small profit.

Here's my observation on gas and land drillers. My style is to incrementally buy into the dips and sell into the upswings, maintaining a core position in my fav's. I frequently take the money off the table too early and also buy in too early. Given the current overall market risk and what appears to be decreasing sector visibility, I am being very cautious. I got spooked this am and sold out a portion of my core positions early in PTEN, BRNC, UDR and BAS thinking lower entry points will arrive very soon. I hope I'm right because I feel a bit "naked" and things can turn on a dime. I'll start buying shortly into continued weakness. PTEN closed today at the low on very high volume so I expect a further decline and will start buying again at 25.40ish. Since I can't predict the lows or the highs, the incremental approach seems the best. I did great on WHIT recently - bought in at 7.40 and cashed out at 8.70 - Love it when that happens! The drillers fundamentals continue to be strong and I don't see PTEN hitting 21 again anytime soon. What do you think? Times like this I like to be under the herd's radar screen - I'm holding ASPN, TMY, END and they're holding up fine. I'm now looking for good oil plays because I think oil is going to hold up better than gas in the near term. Got any ideas? Hope this helps a bit.
