Deflation is about as likely as an asteroid strike -- not zero, but close. The mobilization of cheap resources in China is well past the midpoint, and as the domestic side of their economy takes hold we will no longer import disinflation. Our high levels of dependence on imports and our high debt levels, not to mention a world literally standing knee deep in dollars already, is not about to cut us a better deal by sustaining a high dollar value. The odds of inflation are almost not worth discussing -- the issue is how bad it will get.
