Elmer,

Intel can not simply ram whatever they want down the throats of their customers. The world does not demand 100% C2Ds and the world does not demand Intel products exclusively.

What's worse, lack of demand, or poor yields? We have either:
a) Customers don't want all the Conroes Intel can produce, or
b) Intel yields are piss poor, and it can't produce enough Conroes from its enormous capacity?

You'd expect them to build capacity to meet a larger demand than they actually ended up commanding, no? So why are you shocked that they have more capacity than they need today?

Or, Intel expected its yields to be poor. There is no evidence of overbuilding. Intel is not shutting any of its leading edge capacity down. In fact, Intel is adding, so maybe Intel is not planning on its yield getting out of a toilet anytime soon.

There is no evidence that Intel's yields on CWM are anything other than poor.
