Don't assume Obama is running, nor if he does run that he could come anywhere close to winning. Understandably he is an exciting leader, but he is fresh out of the gate and likely not ready for the top spot. Being black with an Arab name presents real problems beyond the blue states, no matter how compelling, sincere and eloquent he is. Just look at Harold Ford, another wonderful candidate who was destroyed in 2006 with a single sleazy ad.

Bottomline, there is no perfect candidate for 2008 in either party. Both will have to compromise or take great risks. Obama is a great risk. The liklihood remains that a tall strong-looking white male will be the nominee in both parties. And if Romney gets nominated, I would also add "with all his hair". McCain and Guiliani are both almost bald.

Obama 2016!
