Calling Junior an idiot is no worse than some of the names used on this thread to describe liberals and Democrats. Often, criticisms of name calling are instances of the pot calling the kettle black. I would submit that less jargon, less sloganeering, and more thoughtful discussion would improve this thread. I come here to learn, to expand my knowledge of ME and other world events. Reading message after message of drive-by invective spewed out like shots from the hip is not helpful. Being an ideologue is efficient and even simple. Once you have heard an ideologue's position on an issue you don't need to hear him again. To maintain an open mind and search for better or newer truth is difficult. We will never be able to control the hearts and minds of all the muslims or Arabs in the ME and will often have to modify our policies to make progress. A too brittle attitude will lead to failure, as we are seeing now in Iraq.
