The Republican's move away from their core values pushed the Dems towards the center where the "big tent" really exists.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised to see a Buchanan-like third party 'traditional conservative' candidate in '08 that would further dilute the Republican party vote.

My concern is the Republican party may be so damaged that they are out of the game for a really long time. It takes time to build a national party.


It doesn't matter how damaged the GOP is.....they don't think they are damaged, or rather they think they have only superficial wounds. The fight is not over.......not by a long shot.
