Scott, No argument re: the Tigers. They've gone from embarrassing to above the fray in a few short years, and have built a remarkable stable of young pitching in the process. Zumaya could be a great one. Bonds returning to the Giants was pretty predictable. This is the only place he would be cheered consistently, regardless of anything else that happens, and the team needs him as much as he needs the team. At some point, the Giants need to begin building a minor league system that can produce some major league position players. That is by far Sabean's biggest weakness. Nevertheless, he has kept them competitive since he arrived 10 years ago, and the columnist for the Murky News seems to miss that point. jpg
