Oh please. Quit BS'ing the thread. The article was very straight-forward, Bushies are wanting to bring back leaded gasoline, and lead is a major league carcinogenic poison.

All kinds of birth defects and illness have been traced to lead poisoning, including the degradation of bald eagle egg shells hundreds of miles away in the mountains. Lead is one of the most serious poisons there is, along with asbestos which is one of Halliburton's chief businesses.

There is simply no sense trying to argue that Bush-cheney are not champions of the toxic pollution lobby. They have a long record to prove it. In fact notice the several main things the Bushies and GOP congress are trying to slip past us before they are thrown out of power, all orders from big oil and pollutors. Including more drilling in pristine aquatic areas which will endanger all kinds of wildlife and could have permanent deadly effects. Notice they're doing nothing to help people, only things to help the pollution lobby.

Fifty years from now people will look back and mock those who believed oil was the only way to power our cars and heat our homes. They will see those people as backward and primitive. But we will never stop wanting and needing fresh seafood to eat. According to the oil company TV ads we can have both in the same area, but that is just a big fat lie.

Dropping EPA standards for lead poisoning is something big oil wants so they can quit making cleaner fuel and start poisoning us again. They really have no conscience at all, those people. They just see an extra penny a gallon profit for them seling us poisonous gas so that's what they want, and since Bush-Cheney are their bun boys, they pressure them to get to work on it.

Fortunately this won't work. Nor will any of their other "bend over for Exxon and the Saudis" ideas. This nation is fed up with big oil corruption. Most people now want much stricter regulation of the oil and toxic chemical industries, not less.

In fact the whole rightwing notion that big business should be able to do anything they want (ie: totally free enterprise to the point where there are no laws, or laws enforced) has to end. The only reason the stock market is doing well is that a huge transfer of wealth is underway, from the middleclass and small business to the rich and the big corps. That is just plain wrong. And you wonder why people around the world don't trust us anymore? This is one big reason.
