Both are hampered by AMD's HT/memory controller. The last paragraph of the article does mention the improved performance of the RS690. Let's just hope it is better than in the OCWorkbench review. Of the overlapping 3D benchmarks the RS690 would only have taken away a win from Intel in 3DMark05. RS690 would still have lost to the G965 in 3DMark03 and 3DMark06, still lost to the 945 in Quake 4 and Half-Life 2, and maintained the lead in Doom 3.
