So? You're biased and a fascist. That's why no one listens to you.

The rightwing needs to stop demonizing the word "socialist". In fact GW Bush has created more new "socialist" spending than any president in modern times, but he did it inefficiently and in a corrupt way kowtowing to corporate profiteers.

Canada has a fine, efficient "socialist" health care system which we would be very lucky to have right now. It would save us hundreds of billions of dollars and save many US lives. All European countries are basically socialist and their economies have done fine. In fact every country on the planet is more or less "socialist" including the USA.

All "socialism" means is a government-run program. Obviously, we need government-run programs for the big stuff, and not just the military. Look what happened when Bush and the GOP neglected FEMA, an important socialist program. Look what happened when Bushies deregulated big oil and let them gouge us mercilessly. Look what happened when Bushies let the Big Pharmas set drug prices. Obviously, there are many areas where good, honest, efficient government-run programs are the only way to go.

Next up, we need both national health care and a national clean energy program. Those are big items, but they will save us a ton of money and trouble over the long term. That said, we also need more private-public partnerships. We all love free enterprise, but that is only part of what makes our society and economy work. Private enterprise alone doesn't work.
