I agree that most of the additional CO2 is caused by human activity.

OTOH CO2 isn't the only green house gas. (Water Vapor is the largest contributer to the greenhouse effect and there are other gases that contribute as well).

As for your calculations. You have to consider that not all the carbon in coal goes to CO2 production. (Of course some of it that doesn't goes in to more problematic gases like CO).

You right about the the atomic masses, and the mass of the atmosphere and the CO2 percentage.

I don't know about the figures for coal production.

If your figures for total production are correct than most of it has to disolve in water, or get used up by plants, or become part of carbonates or be bound up or transformed by some other process. Because 10^13 tons for new CO2 (and that's just from US and China) annually would increase the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere far faster than it has actually increased. Dumping that much in to the atmosphere (without it being elimated) would increase the concentration by over 500% in first year, rather than the less than 1% per year increase that has occured.
