How do you see those alignments shaping up? I don't really have a serious clue. But those are odd, as they say, bedfellows in the mountain west; and odder still among folk who like Lou Dobbs. The Herculean effort in the Rep party to keep the fiscal conservative, big business liberal social views types bundled with the blue collar, rural, conservative social views types could break apart. Easily. It just seems a breaking apart. The rather weak New York Magazine article on Michael Bloomberg's possible independent party bid hints at some of this. But I can't put it together in a workable argument yet. Just fragments.
