We live in a development that was designed to attract horse people. It's not really suitable for that because the lots are 1-2 acres, and you need maybe five acres for a horse or two.

Our lot is 1.5 acres, 2/3 of which is fenced. Our house is really too big for us, but we need it to hold our 38 years of accumulation. I really like it here, but we might pull up stakes if we can afford to move to the Portland area to be near our grand daughter while she is growing up. Real Estate there is such that for what we can sell this house for we can get a house half as large with a small lot, and maybe not very nice.

I love the pines too, especially the squirrels that live in them and the wind in the needles. However, they produce a ton of pine cones and it is a continual battle to keep them all picked up.

<<I love the Pine trees.>>

My neighbor planted 300 of them on her 5 acres 30 years ago.

I planted 300 of them on my property 20 years ago and all but 6 were killed by idiots on snow mobiles.
