"Now assuming that man made Global Warming started around 1870" It started well before then. Serious burning of coal started in the 1700s. By 1870, London was a smoggy, smoky, dirty town. "that means that the cause must be seriously elevated - and created by man - CO2 levels back around the time of the Normans invading the British Isles." Apparently, you think that the warming due to the CO2 concentration has a lag of 800 years from the time the CO2 reaches a certain concentration. What mechanism would cause that?
