Those are facts, my friend.
Check the ice core results like your GW "scientist" did:

The well correlated curves for 1. temperature and 2. CO2 levels - and in that order - hardly explains an causality chain of the reverse order.

Still, however, your GW "expert" tried to come up with a construction ad absurdum about how CO2 still caused the warming thus demonstrated.
I just pointed out the obvious consequences, should his BS be taken seriously.

I claim nothing and rest observing those curves, where the warming comes first and the CO2 follows. Those are the facts.

It's then up to you and your party to come up with a solid explanation. Either you must revise your incompatible theories - and thus your party line - or you must make those incompatible ice cores disappear.
