Eco,

One thing you failed to mention is that AMD and Intel use different materials and also different processes (APM vs. copy exact)...If one combination is superior over the other there could be differences affecting the variable cost structure...I don't think you can match fab to fab exactly(apples to oranges comparison)....

PS: Also node differnces too (65nm vs. 45nm) one node might be easier or more difficult...others can explain this better...

Oh. I see you do not consider a ten digit cost figure which it takes to develop a new node every two years for the matter.

Your math works for making bicycles. Not for Semiconductors.

p.s: I have no problem with any opinion. But whenever sb claims economic theory for it where it is not I feel hygienically obliged to keep my academic nest clean and intervene.
