I also think that notebook processors are key to their market share over the next year or so

There were tons of Turions in the flyers for the Sunday paper here(Chicago Tribune).

What I wanted to find out from you was what you thought the reasons were for AMD not living up to your expectation that they would ramp up 65 nm production within a couple months of early April.

But I see that I was mistaken about what you had expected. I really never imagined someone would say:

In April, "AMD is now producing 65 nm parts."
and
"AMD will be ramping production of 65 nm in a couple of months".

And then say:

"production in December is what I expected all along." By the way, with no systems on sale anywhere so far.

Sorry I brought it up.

about their relative performance in high end desktops which seems to dominate most online discussion

Intel has the performance advantage in everything but 4-socket server right now, and even there it is a mixed bag, and Tigerton is likely to help some mid-2007. That's the only place that any "platform advantage" seems to be enough to matter, and that goes away with Nehalem in 2008.

H107 should be awful for AMD, and in H207, Barcelona will need to contend with 45nm Intel parts, and at last rumor, seems to be suffering from a max 2.5GHz clock @ 120W.
