If you aint wearing hipboots to wade through the bs you probably are too credulous to invest in chips stocks, cause semiconductor companies are always selling the next thing before they can actually make it and hoping manufacturing pulls it out of their ass. Actual yields are a closely guarded secret, so they make up stuff that sounds like it means something but probably doesn't mean what you think it does. Intel does the same. (Don't ask me for proof, just go back a few years and compare their conference calls and results and you will see what I mean). Every once in a while they actually provide a definition like Hector just did, and you can go back and make sense of all those claims that seemed unrealistic or just wrong. As you point out, AMD always claims mature yields without any apparent increase in capacity, leaving us to wonder what is wrong, then a few months later they really do start to get "mature" yields and the capacity gains materialize. If you look back with the understanding that mature yields mean that good die per wafer reach parity, then the comments fit the ramps. Still a chance that this time really mature will be less than last time's really mature, but no real evidence to argue either way yet. e
