I made a distinction because my point was the difference between making a real invention and some dream invention for the future.
My point was that the guys constructing, getting to work and utilizing electronic data machines in the late 40s got to that point because they used current and not some illusive future technology.
Not like Babbock and his great machine, which never worked because it was based on future technology. Or Da Vinci's helicopter, which "just" lacked a machine to drive it off the ground.
I mean, would you claim that Da Vinci invented the helicopter?
