"All of Florida is screaming at Insurance companies, their answer was to all leave the state without paying a penny. They sucked it in pretty good, but when it came time to pay out, they abandoned everyone."

I've heard some of that.

Believe the same sort of stuff is being contested in Mississippi. An example is the leading role in the lawsuits against insurance cos. that Senator Lott has been playing.

YEP, I have read your last few posts and agree wholeheartedly.
1st--Fla went through what about 7 hurricanes in 2 years and we took care of our own.
2nd--A few years back we had ANDREW, it was IMHO worse then Katrina, covering a larger land area of total devastation yet we got TENTS for a few months NO CRUISE SHIPS, NO BEING PUT UP IN HOTELS to this day. etc etc
3rd--Re Insurance companies, I got my NEW PREMIUM a week ago. It was more then 50% higher then last year. So, I called them up asking how much I could reduce the premium by INCREASING my hurricane deductible from about $4,500 to over $10,000. the answer was a MEASELY $400 which was about 10% of my total premium. These insurance companies are raping us down here. jdn

ps: I have NEVER made a single claim and have lived in fla MOST of my 63 years. Been through MANY hurricanes. jdn
