You are so right Tim, and those zincs also protect thru hull fittings, v struts, trim tabs and anything metal contacting the salt water.

Not just the 1 mil plus boats but every one of them that sits in salt water need zinc. Can't even begin to imagine how many zincs get replaced at least a couple times a year.

Oh, and on all those marine engines and generators like Man you spoke of, at least two or three pencil zincs per engine and one for the generator! Used in salt water cooling heat exchangers and oil/fuel coolers. Those changed usually every oil change. How many oil changes per year??? Depends on the engine hours.

Lotsa steady demand as boaters would rather replace the 40 or 50 dollars of zinc than a 5 or 10 thousand dollar rudder!
