Heck, let's just do away with the Police Departments all over the country. People should have learned long ago that stealing, killing, and things like that are wrong. After all, those are much more fundamental and if you expect people to know not to take on too much debt then they must also know that anything they could get arrested for is wrong.

Most people don't have a clue how much interest they are paying each month on their credit cards, and you expect them to know how much debt they can handle? That seems pretty unreasonable. The answer is that they can handle as much debt as the much more knowledgeable lending institutions will give them.
