Have any devices been announced that we know will use the MSM7200.

Nothing yet....but I cant even think of any devices that we know have a MSM7500 yet. The two chipsets are supposed to be pin compatible so I am really hoping for a small lag between the introduction of handsets based on the respective chipsets. Unfortunately, I dont believe that Jha has ever given specifics about the timeline for the MSM7200 (it is always combined with the MSM7500).

FWIW, I think MSM6280 based handsets are starting to show up which should provide a bump up from the MSM6250, but I'm still not sure if we will see high-end WCDMA devices with that chip that dont have a dedicated applications processor.

Do we know if the 1st OMAP 3 processor (the OMAP3430) which Snapdragon will compete with, and which was due to sample mid-2006 with volume production scheduled for 2007 has in fact sampled?

This is by no means definitive, but this presentation from a TI exec in October has a slide which shows the OMAP3430 as being "announced" instead of "sampling".

Other than that, I cant remember or find any comments on the sampling of the chip....

Welcome back,

Thanks....I'd say it was good to be back, but I'd be lying <g>. It doesnt take long to get used to sitting on a beach each day with the hardest decision being whether to get the Mai Tai or the Pina Colada :-).

TI on deck....
