Many of us DO believe the President has lied, mislead, spouted half-truths, repeatedly, without shame, about Iraq and many other issues - and he continues to do so. It's how we were mislead INTO the war in the first place. Should we NOT state what we believe?

Indignation over falsely impugned honor without any merit seems to be a Repugnican trait!

Perhaps the release of the second part of the Senate Intelligence Committee report when the Dems take control, the one that examines how the administration used the pre-war intelligence will make this clear. You know, the one Pat Roberts (R) has been keeping in a bottle for over two years and two elections?

"it's obvious that in general, the Democrats went well beyond mere criticism."

You've floated this one before. It isn't obvious. By this time, it should be pretty clear that the intelligence was "cherry-picked" to foster a particular impression. While that might be justifiable to do to the public, and I question that assertion, it certainly isn't when applied to Congress. It just isn't true they had the same intelligence as the administration, and it is a lie to claim that they did. And that is just one of the things that gives credence to the claims that Bush lied. Now true, it might have been that someone like Cheney had filtered the information presented to Bush, so technically speaking, maybe he didn't lie. I am not sure how that makes it better, Bush is still the representative of the administration and bears the responsibility.

re: Though I think calling for withdrawal timetables is a "gray area," it's obvious that in general, the Democrats went well beyond mere criticism.

And Clinton had such unequivocal support in everything he did. It must just be a Dem thing.
