The trouble with that analysis is that it ignores the current technology problems (from performance leader to follower over the past 6 months) that AMD faces, and focuses almost entirely on trailing indicators.

I think there's a very good chance the stock could be significantly lower this coming Spring.

Unfortunately, all of the metrics you are looking at are based on time periods where AMD has held reasonable or downright great product advantages over intel. We are just in the first stages of Intel's effective reversal of this condition. If AMD had continued to enjoy those, the share price would be more like it was in spring of this year, rather than 1/2 that value (and correspondingly, your value metrics would not look like such good values). Even this quarter should see all time highs for AMD CPU sales. C2D can't stop AMD cold, but the impact will be severe in another quarter IMO.

jspeed, great summary, and insiders are buying -- the headline of this article seems to say NOT to buy AMD or First Horizon National, but if you actually read the whole thing, it gives both of them as example of a stock that SHOULD be bought based on insider buying and pans some others that SHOULDN'T be bought.

Insider Buying: Look Before You Leap
Executives at outfits such as First Horizon National and Advanced Micro Devices have been buying stock, but investors shouldn't follow blindly

Szurek says certain traits can make tracking apparently scattershot insider purchases more profitable....

Of those companies that have recently seen insider buying, he [Szurek] finds microprocessor outfit Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) promising. One tipoff to investors is that several insiders have recently made purchases. On the downside, planned community group WCI Communities (WCI) has had insiders buying, but that hasn't always translated into strong gains for the stock.
