Admit it, Obama couldn't have a worse name to run for prez.

It's as if JFK were named Vladimir Castro Marx during the Cold War. As great a candidate as JFK was, he needed his father to squeak him past Nixon. The prejudice against Catholics cost him several states. He also needed LBJ to rig Texas for him.

Obama's middle name is fricking Hussein. And he's not white.
I hope he has a black wife. Does he? If she's white, forget about it. But how long did it take for Tiger Woods to be cheered by white fans? Same thing here. It's only a few years since he's been allowed to play at some country clubs.

Don't think that doesn't matter to the 60% of the country who don't take the time to really learn about the candidates and have all kinds of conscious and subconscious prejudices. Harold Ford was ten times the candidate Corker was and he was destroyed with one sleazy ad. And it was a smart ad because it played into the deep-down insecurities of white men which has not disappeared.

I bet the GOP is already putting out the word that Obama is a Muslim. Wouldn't you if you were as devious as they are?

All that said, Obama or any major Dem candidate would make a better president than McCain, so I'm not so much criticizing Obama as much as trying to keep peoples feet on the ground.

Gore just said he hasn't ruled out running. He has apparently been totally forgiven for losing in 2000 though Kerry hasn't yet for 2004. So if Gore runs does he get the nomination? I'll bet he would. And who would he pick as his VP? Maybe Obama.
