Vilsack and Guiliani are also poor names. But not as bad as sounding like Saddam and Osama. How important this turns out to be who knows, but Obama himself realizes it's a major hurdle. To his credit it's one of the first things he jokes about when he speaks to crowds. But it's very close to "Borat Saddam Hussein Osama". Just an obvious fact which along with his skin color

Then again the best name ever was McGovern and he got creamed by Nixon who had a fairly lousy last name.

Other lousy names Dukakis, Lieberman, Tsongas. They all lost.

Still, Obama seems to be to be a dynamite VP candidate at least, and fortunately he did not marry a white woman. I just checked and was relieved to see she's black.

I'm just thinking about what Joe Average Citizen is going to think. The negatives vs. the positives vs. McCain or Romney.
