The beta version has this 'coherent' mode that runs Windows full screen on the Mac OSX Desktop. This mode is ideal because you can access all Mac and Windows software directly since both the Mac Dock and Windows Task Bar (with the infamous 'Start' button) are available on the Mac Desktop.

There's one drawback once they perfect this coherent mode. Once you get use to transparently going between the two OS, you will never be at home on a system with it. In essence, you will be hooked on both OSX and XP/Vista. Going to a computer with only one or the other will leave you with only a third of your capabilities. This isn't an issue if you seldom use other systems. It also does pit the two OS directly against each other in the ways people discover the best and easiest way to do things that can be done in either system. Not really a fair comparison, since Apple and OSX have the home team advantage, but it will be interesting, and most interesting will be which tasks and programs are done on the Windows side.
