Brazil: only 3% growth in 2007 if policies are unchanged Brazil's economy will grow by about 3 pct next year, significantly slower than other emerging countries, if its economic policies are not changed, Sao Paolo-based industry federation FIESP warned. The federation, based in Brazil's wealthiest region, expects GDP to grow by 3-4.5 pct depending on economic policies -- specifically in terms of interest rates and budgetary spending. Brazil's growth in 2006 will not exceed 2.7 pct, FIESP said. The government initially forecast more than 4 pct growth but has had to repeatedly revise this figure downwards.
